Elaine George

Elaine has enjoyed dabbling in woodworking, pottery, stained glass, weaving and needle art. While not an artist, she believes that art help us become and be better humans and that art can be a powerful economic engine for Tucker County. She currently serves as President of ArtSpring. She also serves on the Boards of Alpine Heritage Preservation (Cottrill's Opera House) and the Friends of the 500th and is a member of the Tucker County Historic Landmark Commission.

She loves the West Virginia Highlands which she has backpacked, hiked, biked, kayaked and skied since she was a child. Elaine and her husband Tom, both retired engineers, are pleased and proud to call Tucker County their home.


Susan Callahan

A novice glass artist, Susan is Vice President of ArtSpring and the Silent Auction Coordinator for the ArtSpring Festival. She is also a member of the Alpine Heritage Preservation Board working to revitalize Cottrill’s Opera House in Thomas, WV. Before moving to WV, she worked with the Pittsburgh Glass Center and represented local artists, marketing and selling their work to galleries and museum shops in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland.  Now a resident of Canaan Valley, Susan enjoys the wealth of outdoor adventures found throughout Tucker County with her husband Joe and their dog Nacho.

A resident of Canaan Valley, Susan enjoys skiing, hiking and fly fishing with her husband Joe. She is a novice glass artist with glass blowing experience from the Pittsburgh Glass Center. There she worked to develop new markets for locally-made art at galleries and museum shops in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland. With ArtSpring, Susan works to expand interest in Tucker County arts and artists through events that showcase local talent.

Linda Reeves

Linda is an artist who shows her work locally at her own gallery, The Studio Gallery in Thomas, WV. She is also active with the School-Town Arts (STart) program to promote art in education and community life in Tucker County. In 2000, she worked for AmeriCorps in Tucker County, working on community projects and participating with Cindy Phillips, another AmeriCorps volunteer in collecting oral histories concerning the heyday of the coal and lumber industry of the area.


Rachel Garner

A recent addition to the ArtSpring Board, Rachel has always had close connections with artists and their work. She has returned to live in West Virginia full time after a long career as a Special Educator in Washington State and Virginia. Rachel remains especially close to her son and nieces who love visiting the beautiful Canaan Valley. She looks forward to becoming active in the Tucker County art scene!

Tom Tillman

Tom is an accomplished woodworker who enjoys continuing to learn about the craft. He enjoys creating the annual “ArtSpring bench” which he donates to the Silent Auction each year. Tom brings years of consulting experience to helping ArtSpring with medium and long term planning.Tom is a retired electrical engineer and makes his home in Canaan Valley with his wife Elaine. He enjoys downhill skiing, mountain biking and kayaking.
